Things I Bought In August

Summer is wrapping up and this month has been full of last hurrahs. Our flower garden finally exploded with blooms, we went on a family vacation up north Wisconsin and checked out for a full week, we celebrated six years of marriage, I went on a much needed girls weekend, and met some new babies that joined our group of friends. It was full of good things! We are looking forward to September, where summer starts to blend into fall.

Maeve is in her preschool class, so I bought a few things for “back to school”. I restocked some of their bath stuff that we love. I finally got a new phone case and restocked my holy grail moisturizer (it’s the cheapest one I have ever loved). Of course some new halloween jams and fall candles were on the horizon, so that made the list too.

Quarter zip

I have worn this every morning since I got it and it is cozy, goes with everything, great for the momiform.

Phone case

I was in need of a new case and thought this was so cute!

Night cream

This is my holy grail night cream. It is cheap and the best I have used. I have bought expensive Elemis, drunk elephant, and youth to the people moisturizers and like this better.

Fall candle

This is SO good. I want to buy 20 just in case

Running shoes

I bought a black pair of these in the winter and wore them every day to work and every time I ran. They are finally wearing out and I decided it was time for a new pair. By far the most comfortable shoes - my feet never hurt.

Visual schedule

We use these all the time with kids at work (in PT and OT), especially for wild toddlers. I downloaded this cute one from Etsy to put in Maeve’s room. I laminated it and used some velcro for the pieces for “morning” and “night” routines.

Name stickers

I use these for both girls and put them on water bottles, lunch boxes, etc.

Polly pocket

This brought me back to the 90s, and Maeve LOVES it. There are tiny pieces if you have a tiny toddler, but it would be perfect for a 3-4 year old. We also brought it on our 7 hour road trip and it occupied her for much longer than I expected.

Bath bombs

They smell so good and the girls love them. Maeve asks for one nightly, but I would have no money left if I listened to her all the time.

Halloween pajamas

Of course we all need an excuse to buy matching jams. And I am taking advantage of the small amount of time left where Maeve and Marley are still one size apart. After that - shared closet.

Shampoo and conditioner

This is what we have used since the babes were born. We have tried other things, but always go back to this. It smells amazing, is great for sensitive skin and doesn’t make brushing their hair a nightmare.
